Built-in 1991, the City of London’s Aquatic Center was long considered one of the top facilities in southwestern Ontario. Looking to expand on its reputation, they decided to re-image their Aquatic Center. Because of the building’s age, a critical decision lay ahead: renovate or re-purpose?
In a significant sustainability move, the city chose Abbott to provide master planning and cost management to revamp and outfit the facility with state-of-the-art upgrades throughout the center. The updates included an adjustable pool floor system—a must for the upcoming games.
Additional work soon followed. With brand new entrances, vibrant lighting, interactive areas, and private club space, fans were left cheering for both the renovation and the teams.
